An October birthday planted the seed of an idea for this piece. I wanted to incorporate the shades of Autumn and, as I was hand-sewing into the cloth for the cover, sitting in the exact place that inspired me, I saw the very same colours all around me!
Torn strips of sheer fabrics overlap on a painted background. Textured yarns and threads were randomly laid over and sewn in place to represent the last wispy blooms in the hedgerows.
The greetings card complements the gift and is made from the same ‘fabric’ as the beads on the bag.
