Uniquely special…
I was delighted to be asked to make a picture for someone who wanted to give a special gift to a special friend. The design brief was simple: a profusion of orange and purple flowers with some flyaway dandelions. Other than that I was given a free reign….

I made mini notebooks from leather swatches, remnants of lingerie elastic, sketchbook paper off-cuts and vintage buttons. There’s nothing more satisfying than giving otherwise unwanted items a new lease of life.
A new spin on my ‘cards-to-keep’ is a card and brooch combo. Rather than just attaching a handmade brooch to a piece of card I added it to a flower card giving it more of a 3D effect. This way the two-in-one card and brooch is the ideal gift-to-go.
Another two pairs of blooms are ready-to-go. As winter looms my colourways seem to be getting brighter and bolder. A sure tonic to guarantee cheeriness.
What started out as a small handful of petals has now grown into a field of blooms ready for my next project…
