As my daughter’s wedding day looms closer the piles of pennants grow higher.  I’m making ‘miles’ of bunting but had better do a count up soon – I won’t want to have made too many!!

Now adding some trims to a woven cloth: vintage sheer ribbon and perlé cotton.  Some rows of sparkly thread gives a subtle twinkle but beads and sequins will be added before it’s finally finished.

and this time I have added Kantha stitch and square sequins to define the rectangular woven background.

Embellishing my latest wedding cloth with silvery beads makes it a little more special.  I just have to decide whether to add more decoration.  On second thoughts, maybe not… as less is more!

Weaving silver ribbon through a woven background gives dimension to this tactile wedding cloth.  An added bonus – it’s so quick and easy to do.

Rather than having place names on the tables my brides requested chair-back bunting.

Each chair will have a guests name on bunting which they can take home as a memento of a happy day.

It’s time to get ready for the wedding season so I’m trying something new.  By weaving torn strips from an antique damask tablecloth light catches the shiny patterns in the fabric.  If all goes to plan this cloth will make a range of nostalgic heirloom books.  There may even be enough left over to make a card or two.

as the date for my younger daughter’s wedding creeps nearer.  It’s only 5 months away now so I thought I had better make a start on the bunting.  Wish me luck with 70 pennants down and several miles to go!
