Proper sewing….

I have such a huge collection of fabric I’d forgotten I had so I thought it was time to do some ‘proper’ sewing. In between gardening and de-cluttering I decided I shouldn’t really need to buy clothes when I have so much fabric so this is what I did this week. With this flowing material I made a quick and easy draping cap sleeve dress. Now just need the right occasion to wear it.

Digging for new ideas…

post-1209I didn’t know how to present these quirky New Home / Moving House cards and tried every which way. Luckily, I have a pal who has the handy knack of arriving on the doorstep with vintage items that I can’t refuse! This time it was a rusty potato fork and I think the prongs show off my cards quite nicely, don’t you?

Beautiful Bargello

post-1202A friend gave me a beautiful piece of her unfinished Bargello embroidery to do with what I wished! Don’t tell her I cut it up! Teamed with co-ordinating slub silk and gimp I’m very pleased with the way this diary cover turned out.
