DIY v Sewing?
Found a fabulous little crate which is exactly the right size to display my collection of mini journals and needle cases. So, for a change, I’m trying my hand at a bit of DIY and sanding the paint off to give it a more distressed look. The result is much more satisfying than buying something new but a sewing machine is so much easier to handle than a sander!

In my Textile Shed I was so productive and I had such a happy time I didn’t even notice how cold it was!!! I have a feeling I may be spending a lot of time here…
My nod to Halloween was to wade through a shed full of huge spiders webs. Ughh!! Trying to look through the window of my ‘new’ Textiles Shed I knew I’d be making a lot of little creatures homeless…….
Kitting out my needle cases with pretty little heart pins while sailing across the sea to Ireland.
Layers of chiffon, satin and net are fashioned into a pretty hair accessory or flower brooch. Flowers made from layers of tartan, tweed and bouclé make attractive additions to a jacket, shawl or cardi.
If you sew as much as I do you can’t have enough needlebooks: one for fine needles; one for heavy needles; one for specialist needles; or just one special book for all your needles.
Different places are always an inspiration for new projects.
