After another week of DIY I’m packing up for a weekend break away. Unfortunately not to Paris – maybe next time! My latest sewing project is a must to take and a shopping list of goodies to add to my wedding stash is at the ready……
It’s not that I don’t like decorating but the WORST thing about DIY is the clearing up! So, the sooner I get this job done the sooner I can get back to my sewing machine. I have a few wedding books in mid-make and can’t wait to see how they turn out.
My kitchen fireplace has been standing out in all weathers since the beginning of summer and is now very rusty and distressed – just how I like it! Not one to throw things out easily I shall place it in the garden ready to use as a foil to show off my books and cards.
After finding a bucketful of watch parts I had a little play to see what I could do with them. Maybe some cards telling people “It’s time to wed”?

I didn’t know how to present these quirky New Home / Moving House cards and tried every which way. Luckily, I have a pal who has the handy knack of arriving on the doorstep with vintage items that I can’t refuse! This time it was a rusty potato fork and I think the prongs show off my cards quite nicely, don’t you?
