Made from scraps…. A selection of covers made from layers of muslin, paper bags, chiffon, lots and lots of glue, paint, stitch and sequins. They look delicate but are very hardwearing so ideal for everyday use. You can find them at the “Pudding Cup Art Markets Christmas Extravaganza”.

A friend gave me a beautiful piece of her unfinished Bargello embroidery to do with what I wished! Don’t tell her I cut it up! Teamed with co-ordinating slub silk and gimp I’m very pleased with the way this diary cover turned out.

I just LOVE upcycling – nothing in our house is safe! This wedding range is made from a pin-tucked evening dress shirt that was past its best. But how to show off these little embroidered and beaded cards? An old rusty vintage garden fork is just the thing!
Another ‘Special’ birthday gift was needed…… But men can be really challenging to design for so it’s great when the Birthday Boy has a “hobby”! It’s also an added bonus to acquire a little something from their childhood and incorporate into the design to make it even more personal.
Found a fabulous little crate which is exactly the right size to display my collection of mini journals and needle cases. So, for a change, I’m trying my hand at a bit of DIY and sanding the paint off to give it a more distressed look. The result is much more satisfying than buying something new but a sewing machine is so much easier to handle than a sander!
It’s time to think of weddings but why do ideas always come in the middle of the night? Thank goodness for my notebooks by the side of the bed…….!!!!!
