Getting winter ready…

What can be more natural (and relaxing) than sitting in the sun and crocheting a winter scarf!  I love Tunisian crochet ( just using one long needle) and find it very therapeutic – and it’s quite addictive.

In miniature…

When the brief is that the item has to fit in a box measuring 3cm x 4cm it’s time to put the thinking cap on or wait for divine inspiration.  I have made little fish similar to these before as wrap around ties for a handmade book.  So the task of making these cute iridescent fish wasn’t too taxing after all!!

Blowing in the wind…

I found some vintage orange washing line for my bunting to make it totally weather proof.  It’s time for a trial run but I think I’ll keep this for myself and just make some more.

I have so many projects on the go at the moment that I don’t seem to have time to tidy up.  Maybe I have spent a little too much time gazing out of the balcony trying to stay cool… and it’s too hot to have a blitz anyway!

Hanging up to dry…

I’m at the next stage of making the bunting from old picnic chairs.  As they will be out in all weathers these pennants have had a skim of glue applied to their edges so they shouldn’t fray easily  in the wind.

Deckchair bunting…

It’s amazing what you find if you never throw anything away!!!    Vintage fold-up deckchairs with rusted frames were no longer suitable for use so I cut off the stripey waterproof fabric to repurpose as all year round weatherproof bunting.
